Philosophy

The philosophy at Avontuur Estate Restaurant is simple: Everyone who walks through our doors is either already a friend, or soon will be. By embracing that theory, owners, Melanie Paltoglou and Zunia Boucher-Myers know that every guest will have exceptional service, outstanding food and will regard the restaurant as a ‘home away from home.’

To ensure that this philosophy saturates the restaurant, you will always find either one of them on duty as they firmly believe that a ship needs the captain at the helm at all times.
By ensuring that they keep their staff permanently a great rapport between staff and guests has developed over time, with guests now requesting their preferred waiter to serve them when booking!
They source local and where possible, organic fare, and therefore offer regional favourites and at the same time support local producers in the community. Both Melanie and Zunia regard value for money vitally important when dining out. Here you will find generous portions, food bursting with flavour and dishes that are visually a feast.

‘We are part of people’s history. It is an honour to be part of people’s lives, be it a wedding, birthday party or a simple Sunday lunch. In the more than ten years that we have been at Avontuur we have had weddings, christenings, big and small celebrations of every kind, and we have made so many friends along the way. We never take our role for granted and consider ourselves to be blessed to be on this magnificent estate.

About The Avontuur Estate Restaurant

A la Carte menu, Champagne breakfasts, Contemporary  country cuisine.

The restaurant is decorated in an eclectic mix of old and new and has a warm inviting atmosphere. The sun drenched terrace with its vine draped pagodas, has spectacular views of the paddocks, vines and Table Mountain and is popular in summer. In winter a cozy fire and underfloor heating welcomes our guests.

The a la carte menu offers a mouthwatering selection. Indulge your senses with a hearty breakfast selection enjoyed in a relaxed atmosphere. Champagne breakfasts are ever popular. The lunch menu, bursting with flavor, boasts specialties such as the duck with a piquant Van der Hum sauce, matured Fillet of Beef and Norwegian Salmon with a Dill and Cucumber diamond cream. We also cater for Vegan and Vegetarian diners.

Lighter options put emphasis on organic and local produce, where salads and quiches appeal to the health conscious. Delectable desserts including a gluten free bake of the day, will linger in the mind long after the meal especially if savored with the farm’s 10 year pot stilled brandy or the Above Royalty Liqueur Wine.

The emphasis at Avontuur is on unhurried meals in the company of good friends without compromising service. The estate restaurant is the perfect corporate and function venue, specialising in small, intimate occasions. Teambuilding functions can be arranged and are highly individual occasions and always a lot of fun.Join the dynamic ‘Avontuur Breakfast Club’ (ABC) for networking and guest speakers, every second Wednesday of the month.

Opening Times & Bookings

We are open seven days a week and serve breakfast and lunch, dinner is served from Tuesdays to Saturdays in Summer and is adjusted in Autumn (April) We then serve dinner on a Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. Our hours are 09h00 to 17h00 on the days we do not serve dinner. During Winter we are open only for breakfast and lunch and selected evenings for dinner. (Wednesday’s and Friday’s) 0218554296
