Social media mistakes….what to avoid.

Social media is now the most popular online activity, but how should businesses do it right?

Successful social media marketing is not just about having fancy tactics. It also means not making those mistakes that cost you reach, engagement, fans, and customers. This presentation shows you how to avoid common social media mistakes, and what you could do instead.

Tanya Paulse is a freelance content solutions provider who helps small businesses to improve and customise their online presence.

Before starting Teaspoon Content Solutions, Tanya worked for 19 years as an analyst at a large South African bank. Then she woke up, poured the coffee, and had a long think. The ensuing spontaneous career change from corporate slave to freelancing boss led Tanya through the maze of publishing, both print and digital, which led to digital media, which led to social media.

Tanya swopped transactions for typos, sureties for syntax, and analysis for algorithms. Not that different, really. It’s all about analysis and interpretation. What do you say? Who do you say it to? Why should ‘they’ care? Tanya provides the ‘how’ and ‘when’ to these questions, and more.

What she knows for sure:

·        She knows what she’s good at, and won’t just tell you – she’ll show you.

·        She knows what she’s NOT good at, and keeps it real.

·        She is herself. A broad social media generalist, with a few niche skill sets. When coupled with the firepower of your business, Things.Get.Interesting.

·        She is not a ninja or a guru. That was only cool in 2007.

When she’s not experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen, Tanya is spending quality time with her energetic toddler and ambitious teenager, or engrossed in zombie shows.
